Many of us will need adult social care either for ourselves, or a friend or relative at some point in our lives. This is the point when people need extra support and can be perhaps as a result of illness or disability. It includes older and younger people, the physically disabled, those with mental health problems and their carers. Yet, when people need this extra support, finding information about the Care System can seem a daunting process as there are also a lot of misconceptions about care, especially for the elderly or those suffering from dementia.

It was to address this problem that The National Careline was formed with the intention of it being an information gateway assisting people to find sources of information and practical support and advice and, for the past seven years The National Careline helpline has been providing information about care and support for people, their carers and their families from all over the UK.

The information covers what help is available and how to access it, legal issues, funding issues and where to access financial support – which is especially important for those who are able to fund their care from savings initially but must consider what will happen when, or if, those resources are exhausted and they need to fall back onto the state to fund their care.

We receive no grant aid and, in order to raise funds, over the past seven years, we have taken our message out into the community with our 55+ and Retirement Roadshows. At these shows we invite local businesses, charities, services and any other organization with information useful for this age group and hold a show in a venue where people can come in for free and access the information they need. These shows are extremely popular and becoming much more so as the amount of accessible information decreases due to local government cutbacks.

Advertise with us and reach your market and help us to help others in need too. The monies we make go towards ensuring the National Careline is there to help people in need. The monies we raise pay for the running costs of the helpline and for the materials that we distribute at our 55+ and Retirement Roadshows. Please give us a call on 08000 699 784 to find out more.

Thank you.
