Onside Independent Advocacy

About Us

Onside is a Worcestershire based charity established in 1993 stemming from a belief that everyone has the right to be a valued human being and to be treated in a just and fair manner.

In support of this belief we provide a range of support and services to ensure fairness and equality for adults who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged, discriminated against.

What we do

Onside services focus on the needs of the individual to ensure they understand their rights and have access to the information and support they need to improve self esteem and feel valued within society.

Onside Advocacy provides practical and proactive support to ensure disadvantaged people are treated fairly as citizens and have equal rights within all aspects of their lives.

Onside Appropriate Adult service provides support to people with learning disabilities and mental ill health to safeguard their rights and welfare if they are detained in police custody.

People facing exclusion or isolation through disability, mental ill health or age can access the Onside Lifelinks programme; this provides enabling support so that they can become involved in leisure and social opportunities, learning and education, volunteering and build stronger social networks.

Who we support

Onside provides a range of support and services for adults who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged, discriminated against or excluded. This includes mental and physical ill health, sensory impairment, learning disability, drug and alcohol misuse, older people, and carers.
